Water clarity

I have a fountain that holds 600 gallons of water, and need to keep it looking sparkling. Although I clean it thoroughly twice a year, green algae forms. I was expecting this product to shock the fountain and keep it sparkling. It has slowed down the growth of algae but not stopped it.

Doesn't work

I had been using another product that was not available, so I tried this one. I have tried using more, using less, using it twice a week, once a week. No results. The water is green from algae and the fountain is clogging up. I hope the other product I used is available someday. I won't be buying this one again.
